Gender Self-Assessment guide for the Police, Armed Forces and Justice Sector
A Gender Self-Assessment is a tool for assessing the gender responsiveness of security sector institutions; it is implemented as an internally-led and internally-owned process. DCAF’s publicly available self-assessment guide leads the user through an eight-stage process to conduct an assessment of a security sector institution, create an action plan to move the organisation forward, and monitor and evaluate implementation.

A Comparative Analysis: gender self-assessment (GSA) methodologies applied in Colombia, Honduras, and Ukraine
This paper describes the background, methodology, and key principles for conducting a GSA, through a comparative approach in Colombia, Honduras, and Ukraine. This paper also describes lessons learned from GSAs conducted in these three contexts, in particular those having influenced both the process and eventual outcomes and includes recommendations of pathways to improve gender-responsiveness.

Teaching Gender in the Military Handbook
The Teaching Gender in the Military Handbook provides gender experts, military instructors and educators with resources and guidance on what to teach and how to teach about gender in the military. The Handbook was created in response to a call to integrate gender in military education and training articulated in the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security; the NATO frameworks to implement these resolutions; and national policies and initiatives in the NATO-PfP area.
